| A $500.00 deposit is required to hold a pup, but will not be accepted without an interview and GR Puppy Contract. If you are interested in coming out to see any of our dogs, please contact us to set up an interview. Interviews may be conducted over the phone, however you will need a copy of the GR Puppy Contract. You may print this from our website, or one can be mailed to you upon request. Interviews are by appointment only Monday through Saturday. Sunday is reserved for my Heavenly Father and my family except in cases of emergency. Please also understand that Guardian Rottweilers is not some big corporation, but family owned and operated, so please be considerate of the time when you call.
Even if you do not buy a puppy from Guardian Rottweilers, please RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH. Ask to see the pedigree, and become familiar with what bloodlines you are interested in and why. Are the parents "ADRK" with IMPORT PAPERS? If not, they are NOT German. Just like me claiming I am 5'8" and 110 pounds does not make me tall and skinny, neither does simply stating that a dog is German make him a real German Rottweiler. If the breeder cannot produce import papers, then they do not have a German Rottweiler. We have traced the ancestry of our dogs back to the early 1900's to some of the original Foundation Rottweilers in Rottweil, Germany.
Ask the breeder why they have chosen the bloodlines they are using, and what they hope to accomplish from this pairing. Although many breeders have different goals and different opinions of the "ideal rottweiler", if they are truly a breeder, they will have some purpose. Whether they are focusing on temperament, confirmation, trying to produce a stronger working dog, etc. Simply putting a male and female together while the bitch is in season is NOT breeding. Dogs have been doing that since the beginning of time without any assistance! Being a breeder means the years of dedication to the breed, research on the dogs, bloodlines, health issues, training, etc. EVERY SINGLE litter we produce is done with great fore-though, planning and with very specific objectives in mind.
Ask for proof of health clearances: Hip/Elbow (OFA, PENN Hip, or European equivilent), Heart, CERF (Eyes), DNA (ALL IMPORTS MUST HAVE DNA on file or AKC will not register your litter!) temperament testing (BH, AD, MAG, ZtP, etc.)
Ask for a health or temperament guarantee. The GR puppy contract extends for the life of your puppy and we are THE ONLY breeder I have ever encountered to offer health AND temperament guarantee as well as a confirmation guarantee on show quality pups. This is how confident we are with our dogs, our bloodlines and our breeding program.
Quality does not happen by accident. We start with top European lines and select only dogs and bloodlines with superior temperaments, confirmation and health. Then we complete all necessary medical screening to ensure breeding soundness. We are then very careful not to over breed the bitch which would destroy her and produce poor quality pups with compromised health, immune, and confirmation. Simply look at the size and quality of our pups. They are stocky, solid, and most importantly, mentally sound. We are picky with our dogs, picky with our breedings, and picky with the placement of our puppies. If you are looking for a lawn ornament, buy a plastic one. They are much cheaper than a GR puppy, and they will be easier to clean up after. But if you are looking for a dog of superior quality with a world class pedigree and sound health and temperament, then we would love to set up an interview.
All puppies will have been de-wormed, have received at least one set of immunizations, and begun potty/crate training. Some litters will have their tails docked and dew claws removed. ALL puppies imported to the US as well as most GR litters will have the tails left intact (natural tail). Pups that are sold with the tail intact MUST BE left with the natural tail. WE WILL NOT AGREE TO DOCK THE TAIL OF YOUR PUPPY UNTIL YOU HAVE READ OUR PAGE ON TAIL DOCKING (TAIL OF TAILS).

Before making the decision to purchase a Rottweiler, please take a few minutes to review my Rottweiler Facts page. We also require a GR Puppy Contract before any deposits are accepted. This protects you the buyer with a health, temperament and confirmation guarantee, and it protects our puppies by ensuring you will provide a loving home. If you are not in agreement with our contract, please do not call for an interview.
