This was an exceptional breeding and Isis is an exceptional female. I had the pleasure of meeting her sire, KAFU in Serbia and was absolutely blown away! Strength and power and still such a gentle, affectionate baby. When I decided to breed to Kafu, I wanted to capitalize on his bone and substance, and how better to do that than with a MARSCHALL daughter? P-Linda was an exceptional female in every way. Compact muscular frame with all of Marschall’s bone and his typical, prominent headpiece. Added to that was her strong character with high confidence balanced with such an eager to please worker. P-Linda LIVED to work and was fearless. P-Linda’s hard, working lines combined with Kafu’s gentle nature produced pups with a very balanced nature and everything I love about this breed. Isis was one of the smallest pups in her litter, but so compact and typey in head. I knew from the time she was just a few weeks old that she was destined for great things! Although she has grown into one of our largest females, she has kept that sweet, gentle, unassuming nature she inherited from her father. Isis has CRAZY bone and substance and a head piece to die for!! Isis is a beautiful female and so super sweet. She is very laid back and mellow. Isis has such a cool, relaxed personality and is so eager to please. She is my little shadow puppy and we love our Isis.
We had a puppy that, at 4 weeks old, was stepped on accidentally by his mother. Because Jace was from a litter of 10, we thought he stood a much better chance of not getting his little cast bumped or chewed on if he had more one on one time with mom. Isis’ boys were just weaning, so we gave it a shot to see if she would not only take in a puppy that did not belong to her, but one that had an issue (unfortunately, often moms will push a puppy with a problem away and concentrate her resources on the healthy ones). She welcomed little Jace as though he had always been hers! <3 She adored him and doted on him constantly. In the house, she never let him stray far away and would always sit down and patiently wait if she was leaving the room and he needed a bit more time to catch up. Around that same time, my oldest’s daughter’s best friend had found a litter of abandoned kittens. They were approximately 2 weeks old when she found them, and from a litter of 5, only 2 had survived. When she brought the 2 kittens to me, they were barely alive. They were too dehydrated to get an IV started, but I gave them both sub-cutaneous fluid and glucose, put them in an incubator and called Dr. Udrasols. One female died en-route to the vet, leaving this little tiny orange baby as the sole survivor 🙁 Dr. Udrasols gave her a thorough check-up, said that she was severely anemic due to an extreme flea infestation. We took her home and painstakingly combed and removed all the fleas we could find (she was much too small and weak for any chemical flea removal) and then we rubbed orange peels on her (the oil in the orange peel is a natural flea repellent!) We then kept her in the incubator and tube fed her until she was strong enough to suckle. My daughter, Liliana, named her Clover- because she was lucky (like a 4-leaf clover). As Clover got stronger and stumbling about the house, Isis was naturally drawn to her. As she would patiently wait for Jace, Clover also would catch up and stay close to Isis. Isis would lick and nuzzle the poor kitten absolutely drenching her! Isis constantly picked her up and tried to push her towards her for nursing. Of course her nipples were far too large for the tiny kitten, but it did not stop Isis from trying. She would follow Clover around and then lay down beside her and try to encourage her to nurse. It was absolutely adorable to watch. What a sweet, beautiful, loving baby and such an ambassador for this breed.
This is Isis with Ethan in a hotel in Europe after she competed.
